Janet Rayner's Work

Original Oil Paintings

Passage painting

All original oil paintings are executed on custom made, ultra fine grain, oil primed linen canvas using the highest quality permanent pigments. The paintings are protected with several coats of a special mixture of Soluvar matte and gloss varnishes, giving a pleasant sheen to the finished art work that accentuates the detail and color. All original work is framed.

Original Pastel Paintings

All original pastel paintings are done with the finest quality soft pastels and pastel pencils. They are painted on Colourfix art media; an acid-free watercolor board with a light fast acrylic / silica mix primer that imparts a fine tooth. They are mounted on acid-free foam board, and matted with archival museum board, framed, with glass or Plexiglas to protect the image. Pastel is one of the most permanent painting mediums when the works are protected properly during handling and display.

About the Prints

Janet Rayner offers limited edition Archival pigment prints of her oil paintings and pastels, printed on acid free Somerset Velvet fine art paper. Hand proofed by the artist for color and detail, in many cases the prints are virtually indistinguishable from the original works of art.
